Prosecco Serre Lebanon

Our Origins: Heroic Viticulture
in the UNESCO Hills of Combai

Prosecco Serre · About Us

shaped by land, family, and restraint.

Prosecco Serre Lebanon

Our origins lie in Combai, a small hillside village in northern Italy, within the prestigious Conegliano–Valdobbiadene area, internationally recognised for producing the highest-quality Prosecco. This is not industrial terrain. It is steep, demanding land where vineyards are worked entirely by hand, and quality is always prioritised over volume.

Serre di Pederiva has always been guided by a simple belief: great Prosecco begins with respect for the land. Today, the winery remains family-run, led by the second generation, who continue this philosophy through a balance of tradition, precision, and modern winemaking expertise.

A UNESCO-Protected Territory

UNESCO World Heritage

In 2019, the hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognising the unique relationship between people and landscape. Natural terracing, steep slopes, and centuries-old viticulture practices define a territory that cannot be replicated elsewhere.

Our vineyards are located within this protected area, in a landscape shaped by erosion and time. It is a place that demands care, patience, and responsibility, values reflected in every bottle we produce.

Heroic Viticulture, By Hand Only

hills of Combai

The hills of Combai are too steep for machinery. Every vine is cultivated manually. Every harvest is done by hand.

This approach, known as heroic viticulture, results in limited production and exceptional quality. Lower yields allow for greater concentration, clarity, and expression, producing Prosecco that reflects its origin rather than overpowering it.

Sustainability as a Commitment

responsibility

Working within a protected UNESCO landscape carries responsibility. At Serre, sustainability is not a trend but a way of working.

Our vineyards are managed with respect for biodiversity and environmental balance:

  • No chemically synthesised fertilisers
  • Minimal, regulated treatments using selective formulations
  • No chemical mowing
  • No drip irrigation systems
  • Extensive use of natural wooden vineyard supports

This commitment is reinforced by internationally recognised certifications, including SQNPI, BRCGS, IFS, and Equalitas, ensuring quality, traceability, food safety, and responsible production at every stage.
